Pop-up Paradise by Manuel Ameztoy

08.08.2012

This amazing world of cut and non-woven fabrics is aptly named ‘Pop-up Paradise’ and is a site-specific solo exhibition by the Argentinian artist Manuel Ameztoy at the Faena Arts Center in Buenos Aires.

The artist sought to translate a natural landscape into something which could be removed and relocated, gaining additional meaning in the process. The atmosphere which weaves through the cathedral room of the FAC is a textilic forest-like, moss-covered environment. And it is one which is abstracted from and which reintegrates with nature through the use of projections upon screens populated throughout the 2,066 ft² exhibition space.
