An Artistic Reception

The client here was an avid art collector, and the brief was to create a space to accommodate his collection, to make the art the hero of the design. He bought much of his collection as we worked, so we were continually modifying the design to accommodate new pieces.

Essentially the client wanted a gallery, a white box in which to put all these pieces. The style is minimalist, architectural, with the maximum light introduced into the property. We brought in a glass chandelier in the form of different-sized drops for this main reception space which forms the main focal point of the dining area of the main reception.

A white leather sofa and flooring made from reconstituted composite stone contribute to a perfectly smooth flow from one area to the next.

The seating area was more likely to be used for welcoming guests, so it needed to be a bit richer, a bit more homely. For this, we introduced cherrywood panelling and a silk carpet.
